How to export your WhatsApp chat

6 taps — under a minute
  1. 1Open WhatsApp and go to the person's chat
  2. 2Tap their name at the very top
  3. 3Scroll down and tap "Export Chat"
  4. 4Tap "Without Media"
  5. 5When the share sheet appears, tap "Save to Files" or share it directly
  6. 6Upload the .txt file here when you come back
Android
Same idea, slightly different menu
  1. 1Open the chat
  2. 2Tap the three dots in the top right corner
  3. 3Tap "More"
  4. 4Tap "Export Chat"
  5. 5Tap "Without Media"
  6. 6Share or save the .txt file

Tips
  • • Export “Without Media” — we only analyze text anyway.
  • • Must be a 1-on-1 chat, not a group.
  • • Export the full history, not just recent messages.
